For a few years I recorded entire overnight broadcasts of the CBC Radio program "
Brave New Waves". This started on Reel to Reel, then progressed to Hi-Fi VHS. I would then transfer only the music to TDK SA-90 cassettes to make mix tapes. I did write down each tapes track list, and at one time I had a scan of them, but that has been lost to time so unfortunately there is no index available.. Hope you enjoy!
Note - Each 'Cassette' recording here is one side of a 90 minute tape.
Note - These recordings I believe are from late 1980's, early 1990s.
Some Highlights:
- Cassette 38 opens with an in studio performance by Deja-Voodoo
- Cassette 7 opens with an in studio performance by Severed Heads
(Will add more as I get back to listening to these)

Thanks so much for the feedback. Spent so much time listening to BNW and of course Nightlines from Winnipeg. I was actually able to get some of my early 'music' played on
both shows but have lost those recordings as well! Hope all is well In Montreal

This is a memory goldmine
I found out about so many bands while listening to BNW from here in Montreal it's crazy. All throughout those years I have also recorded many episodes on cassettes but I never took the time to edit any of them. The time you took to compile this here is remarkable. I still miss the iconic voice of Brent Bambury but having kept only the music still makes your effort worthwhile. Thanks for the valuable memories in this share.
